On June 13 the Township of Ocean Historical Museum received a first place award for its quarterly newsletter, “Ocean’s Heritage.”
The Kevin M. Hale publication’s award for newsletters from the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey was given at their spring meeting at the Merchants and Drovers Tavern in Rahway.
Accepting the award for the all volunteer Ocean Museum was Peggy Dellinger, editor of the newsletter and exhibit chairman. The competitive awards which also include books, booklets, brochures, DVD’s, calendars, pamphlets and posters were created to recognize the achievements of its over two hundred member societies that include a variety of organizations devoted to New Jersey history. The Ocean Museum newsletter is sent to all members and interested residents and is available in the Library and businesses in town.
