The results of last week’s Asbury Park Board of Education elections have changed due to the counting of 53 provisional ballots.
The results listed on the Monmouth County website show that incumbent Barbara Lesinski, with a total of 651 has now lost her seat to Sheila Etienne whose vote count totals 657.
Angela Ahbez-Anderson was the high vote getter with 688, while Kenneth Saunders garnered 680 votes.
Anderson ran with Lesinski and Peter J. Cheney on a ticket of support for Superintendent of Schools Lamont Repollet.
Etienne ran on a ticket with Saunders and current board vice president Christian Hall on the “Parents Who Care” ticket.
Lesinski said after the final vote tally she is planning to ask for a recount due to the high number of provisional ballots.
“I want to go to the next step. We have until the 18th to ask for a recount. We will contact them. It’s not over yet, there are still several things we can do,” she said Tues., Nov. 10.
