There are plenty of places to go to celebrate the new year, but for those not interested in heading to the frenzy of Times Square or taking to the Hudson River on a Sea Streak cruise for the the fireworks show, area restaurants are offering special nights of their own to welcome 2016 to the Jersey Shore.
At Mister C’s in Allenhurst there will be two dinner seatings, one at 6 p.m. and the next at 9 p.m. which includes dinner and a show.
Nicky Addeo, who is in the Sounds of Asbury Park Hall of Fame, will be singing.
“He’s one of the most popular guys in the area,” owner Chic Parotta said.
Cost will be $85, which will include a champagne toast at midnight.
There will also be a special holiday menu featuring Australian Lamb, Salmon and Scallop dishes and for the vegetarian crowd there will be spinach and ricotta ravioli with brown butter sauce.
But that’s just the small sampling of the holiday menu.
“It’s really a great menu,” said Parotta said, “Fish steaks, something for everyone.”
At Johnny Mac on Main Street in Asbury Park there will be the usual free pizza and candy but with an added free champagne toast for all to ring in 2016.
DJ Rob Busch will be entertaining.
McGillaguddy’s in Loch Arbor has an all night celebration planned starting with dinner specials at 3 p.m. with last dinner reservation at 6:30 p.m.
James Dalton will be singing from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. before Amanda Greatorex Rock Trio takes over from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
There will also be a free buffet and champagne toast at midnight.
Giamano’s will be serving food, drink and entertainment. Dinner reservations will be taken from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with some added specials to celebrate the occasion along with the regular dinner menu.
In the upstairs room entertainment will be provided by Poppa John Bug and the Jam Band from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Chuck Lambert will also be appearing.
The upstairs bar will be open for those not having dinner.
And of course there will be a free champagne toast to ring in 2016.
