The borough received an $110,000 CDBG grant that will be used to fund upgrades to bathrooms in Borough Hall and make them handicapped accessible.

“We will also be redoing our front counters as well,” Borough Clerk Lori Reibrich said.

She said the work is expected to take place over the summer.

Also, Buttermere Avenue in Interlaken has been repaved- completing a longtime project that has improved all east-west direction streets in the borough.

“This was that last east-to-west street in the borough that had not been repaved. The others were done in recent years,” Reibrich said.

The close to $500,000 repaving project was completed late last year using about $200,000 from a state Department of Transportation grant with the borough supplying the remaining money.

The project included new curbing, handicapped aprons at intersections, and new sidewalks if the property owner wanted to help pay the cost.
