A 19-year Neptune police veteran was promoted to the rank of captain at this week’s Township Committee meeting.
Lt. Anthony Gualario was promoted during a special swearing-in ceremony attended by fellow police officers, family and friends.
“Lt. Gualario has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping this police department and has served in various leadership roles,” Police Director Michael J. Bascom said.
Gualario has served with the traffic bureau, the professional responsibility and internal affairs, departments, and served as a shift commander and patrol supervisor in the Operations Division.
“He has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping this police department operate in accordance with best practices and nationally-recognized standards to protect the residents of Neptune in a fair, responsible and proactive manner,” Bascom said.
“He is well-known and well-respected throughout our community and throughout the law enforcement community,’ he said.
Gualario is a graduate of Neptune High School and a decorated U.S. Army veteran. He has a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science and a post-graduate certificate in Law and Public Safety Administration.
