This free event will take place at 7 p.m. April 15 and 16 and att 3 p.m. April 17.

This poignant memory play takes place in St. Louis and portrays a mother whose preoccupation with her past as a Southern belle and her unrealistic dreams for her children’s futures threaten to smother her painfully shy lame daughter and her aspiring writer son. The gentleman caller’s visit offers false hope and disrupts the family’s precarious balance.

The play is directed by Julia Sandra Rand, who also performs in it along with Michael Gurrieri; Lindsay Adkins and Patrick Monaghan.

Rand has performed in many plays directed by Herbert Berghof in their HB Playwrights Foundation. As a playwright her second original play is “Sunrise, Sunset or Breakfast with Julia,” performed by Rand and was produced to date in two new play festivals, the Gene Frankel Theatre( NYC) in 2010 and at the The Black Box Theatre, Asbury Park in 2008.

Her credits include Off-Broadway: “In Fleeing From Tigers” on Theatre Row, “Let Me Hear You Whisper” by Paul Zindel and “A Perfect Analysis Given by A Parrot “ by Tennessee Williams.

She is a member of Actors’ Equity, SAG-AFTRA and the Dramatist Guild. Rand’s academic degrees include a MA in English from MU in 2011 and a BA in Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College in 2006.
