The 110-room boutique Asbury Hotel located in the former Salvation Army building on Fifth Avenue in Asbury Park is nearing completion and scheduled to open Thurs., May 26 just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
The hotel, owned by waterfront developer iStar, will have 110 rooms some with eight bunk beds in a room and all the way up to private king and queen rooms. Prices for rooms will start at $125 a room.
The front desk and check-in doubles as The Counter, a grab-and-go kitchen where guests can fetch keys, order coffee, or buy something from the retail store. A ground-floor lounge will become a rec room, with ping-pong, pinball machines, board games – and a communal table for travelers who want to get some work done.
Other additions include the Soundbooth, a casual lobby bar, Salvation, the rooftop bar with stunning views of the town and ocean, The Baronet, rooftop garden, theater and concert venue, and Beergarden, featuring food and beer trucks.
The hotel also features Asbury Hall and Lawn, a 4,800-square-foot, flexible indoor/outdoor event space for either an intimate social gathering or a company retreat.
The pool area will include seating and a large pool deck. Food trucks will serve food, craft beers and signature drinks.
All areas of the hotel are open to the public except the pool which is for hotel guests only, unless there is a public event at the pool.
