Longtime Ocean Township resident John Huss, whol initiated the “Ocean Township Loves Our Cops” project, has been chosen as the grand marshall of the township’s Memorial Day Parade.

The parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. Mon., May 30 at town hall following an 11 a.m. ceremony.

Huss has dedicated himself to community service for the last 50 years and recently initiated the “Ocean Township Loves Our Cops” project. Retired Det. Jimmy Jones, an Army veteran, who later joined the township police department will also be riding in the car. Jones, who also lives in the township, retired aafter 27 years of service.

Marie Siciliano, the widow of Gavin, will also be waving to residents from the car. Her husband served four years with the Air Force during the Korean conflict and came home to open a successful real estate business in the township.

Amy Green, the widow of John Green, will also be riding in the car. Her husband died after serving 17 years with the police department.

Following the parade the public is invited to a party at Oakhurst Fireman’s Field.
