The race challenges runners and walkers of all abilities to complete a 5K course in support of a Lunch Break, a 501(c)3 charity in Red Bank dedicated to providing food, clothing and fellowship to local community members in need.

Race organizer Anna Stodart said all runners will be given a Santa suit at registration and will run a closed course on the streets of Asbury Park.

Kate McMahon, director of development of Lunch Break said that while the charity is located in Red Bank, 88 percent of its clients are from all over Monmouth County with the largest percentage coming
from the city.

“There will be over 1000 Santas running through the streets of Asbury Park to help the hungry,” McMahon said.

There will also be a food and toy drive for local families in need.
An after party will be held right after the race at the Wonder Bar on Ocean Avenue for those 21 and over. It will feature live music from Jukebox Criminals along with drink and food specials.

Register for the race at apsantarun.com.
