Three of the best musicians the Jersey Shore has to offer will be playing in Asbury Park on July 5. Pinnacle, comprised of three musicians from area bands, make up the all-star group.

“It’s a supergroup with three guys from three different bands. They are all top-shelf musicians who blow people away. They spin a musical web second to none,” Langosta Lounge entertainment director Peter Mantas said.

The new band includes Kevin Grossman from Karmic Juggernaut, Zack Westfall, formerly with the Matt Wade Group; and Tom Monda from the Thank You Scientist band. Band members are in their late 20s or early 30s.

“We play together but we are still very involved with a bunch of different groups, sometimes still with same bands. We like playing together and have been friends for a long time,” Grossman said.

“It’s fun, to put it simply. We enjoy playing music with each other and take the time to make that happen. But I still have plenty of tour dates with Karmic Juggernaut,” he said.

Grossman said Pinnacle expects to play every Wednesday at Langosta Lounge, located on the boardwalk, from 9 p.m. until midnight. Admission is free.

“It will be a permanent thing where we play together every week,” he said.

Like most bands, Pinnacle, who has been playing for about three years, likes coming to Asbury Park

“In my opinion Asbury Park is the best place in music in New Jersey. With all the traveling I’ve done, I’ve never found a music scene quite like there is here. I honestly think there are great musicians here making great music- and that attracts other people who want to make good music. You can’t go out anywhere else and expect the quality of music that’s in Asbury Park,” he said.

Grossman said that Asbury Park has historically always been a musical destination and that the theatres, bars and clubs in the city guaranteed venues.

“So, Asbury park is a natural for the music scene,” he said.
