The Rotary Club of Asbury Park held its 10th Polar Plunge on Sat., Jan. 27 on the boardwalk.
Proceeds from the event which were around $25,000 will benefit Holiday Express and their 25th Anniversary and Rotary Eye Rescue.
According to organizer Traudy Grande, the water temperature was 40 degrees and the air temperature was 50 degrees.
“More than 100 people came to the event and 65 people went into the water,” she said.
Many local, state and national companies sponsored the event including, The Robinson Ale House, Circle-A Construction, The City of Asbury Park, Investors Bank, New Jersey Natural Gas, State Farm Insurance, Buckley Funeral Home, Falco’s Catering, roger K. Stein, CPA and Kuderna Financial Team.
