coaster-news-200-newA local church recently celebrated its third anniversary of bringing God into the lives of ordinary citizens in Asbury Park.

According to a release from the church the Boardwalk Vineyard Church, 1003 Asbury Ave., is a unified community of ordinary men, women, and children who have the faith to believe that Asbury Park and the Jersey Shore region will be impacted by the love of God in their everyday lives.

“Our vision is to restore people and families with the transforming love of God.  There are a few ways that we do this,” said Ali Maciunski, co-pastor.

Every Sunday before and after services, church members serve food and spend time with all who show up.

“This is sometimes challenging as our small body is comprised of 50 percent who are either homeless or in poor financial condition. When we see nickels and pennies being offered, we see it as people giving out of their lack,” Maciunski said.

She is emphatic that those receiving a meal do not have to attend services.

“We do, however, see many join our community in worship and participate as members.”
Twice a month on Friday evenings church members bring a worship service with music and a message of hope to the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission on Memorial Drive.

The mission is a temporary men’s homeless shelter that also runs a recovery and discipleship program.

“Our messages are centered on hope and helping residents seeing their value in who they are,” Maciunski said.

Every Monday night at 7 p.m. the church hosts a prayer meeting for the community.

“This is a time for all to receive prayer for any spiritual, emotional, or physical sickness. We have seen many miracles over our three year history,” Maciunski said.

On Thursday nights at 7 p.m. a meeting called Revolution Recovery is held for all who struggle with addictions, hurts, or dependencies.

One Saturday a month there is a free men’s breakfast as an outreach to the community. This is a time of connecting with men to discuss and grow as husbands, fathers, and sons.

The church has been active in the community hosting its  first Trunk or Treat outreach tin the fall.

On Sat., March 31 from 10 a.m  to 1 p.m., the church will be partnering with NSLS and IPO to host a Breakfast with the Bunny, providing a free breakfast, free picture with the Easter Bunny, games and prizes.
