coaster-news-200-newThe John C. Conover Agency and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Signature Properties announced today a definitive merger agreement to create a $125  million Jersey Shore real estate powerhouse through a combination of their Asbury Park offices. The newly merged office will operate under the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Signature Properties brand beginning on April 30.

The two offices are currently Nos. 1 and 2 in Asbury Park by a wide margin and combined will possess more than five times the Asbury Park market share than the next-largest firm. This new office will offer the Shore’s most complete set of real estate products and services with a commitment to serving the greater Asbury Park area with each firm’s signature customer service and marketing acumen.

Travis Newarski and Anthony Newarski of the John C. Conover Agency, and Bret Violette of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Signature Properties, will own the office. Travis Newarski will also serve as its broker-of-record. Conover Property Management, while maintaining its independence, will be housed under the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Signature Properties umbrella.

“This is a decisive move that accelerates our strategy and positions us to win by offering even greater value to our customers and partners,” said Travis Newarski. “In addition to the clear strategic benefits of combining two highly complementary organizations, we will create substantial value to buyers and sellers alike through significant industry presence, deep roots in our communities, and innovative marketing. At a particularly exciting time for local real estate, this merger combines our offices’ strengths to shape Shore real estate for years to come.”

“Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Signature Properties is the ideal partner for the John C. Conover Agency,” said Anthony Newarski. “Buying into this franchise allows us to intensify and strengthen our ability to serve our local market, while retaining the community-centered business model that has kept the John C. Conover Agency at the forefront of the Jersey Shore real estate market for the last 112 years. I look forward to our future together as a combined institution and to the substantial impact our agency will have on the Jersey Shore.”

The merged entity will be based in the John C. Conover Agency’s office at 200 Main St. in Asbury Park along with Conover Property Management, which operates autonomously from the real estate business.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Signature Properties’ Asbury Park office will be structured around each company’s proven strategies and commitment to the community and will build on the companies’ similar strong marketing and agent-development competencies to provide clear client and competitive focus.

Violette concluded, “Clearly, the potential of this combination is limitless. The John C. Conover Agency has been a real estate leader in the greater Asbury Park market for over a century, and we have long been impressed by its deep local knowledge, marketing presence and skill in the community.  We’re helped by the fact that both companies have been pursuing similar organizational structures and sales strategies, and there is immense talent resident in both organizations. We are committed to achieving the synergies we have identified while maintaining our competitive position and momentum in the marketplace.”
