The reopening of Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park will feature a special appearance by the city’s favorite son, Bruce Springsteen, Mon., June 18.

Locally tickets for the event will be distributed to 100 Asbury Park residents who will each have the opportunity to win two free tickets through an online lottery system.

Grammy winners Portugal will headline the event and there will also be a performance by the Tangier Blues Band.

The city’s waterfront developer, iStar, and the Bowery Presents are hosting the event, which will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, which operates a facility in the city.

Asbury Lanes, 209 Fourth Ave., is an iconic 1960’s bowling alley-turned music venue which just reopened atfer extensive renovations.

iStar, owner and designer of the city’s waterfront and The Bowery Presents are promising programming of epic proportions year round at the venue.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County is a private non-profit organization that empowers today’s youth with life-changing programs, serving children that come from some of the most difficult circumstances in the county.

In a recent press release, iStar heralds its innovation in the real estate investment world. It also cites its part in spearheading the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to re-establish Asbury Park as the coolest city on the East Coast.

With 35 acres along AsburyPark’s oceanfront, projects have included converting a vacant Salvation Army building into The Asbury Hotel (named “best new hotel” by USA Today), transforming the historic Asbury Lanes into a world-class venue and introducing luxury resort living to the area with the soon-to-debut Asbury Ocean Club Surfside Resort and Residences.
