This was the scene during Bradley Beach Pirate Day at Riley Park.

The Bradley Beach Tourism Commission is hosting this year’s Bradley Beach Pirate Day on Sat., July 21.  The celebration will consist of town-wide Pirate-themed events, live music, entertainment for all ages and full Pirate Action All Day.

The morning starts off with a pirate-themed Bradley Beach Library Open House from 9  a.m. to 12:30 p.m.with pirate crafts and more. Downtown Bradley Beach features pirate specials from local businesses.

Some businesses featuring events will be Panchos and Junchos at 320 Main St., D’Arcy’s Tavern at 310 Main St. and Paws and Anchor at 614 Main St. (for your dog’s free non-toxic stenciled Pirate Tattoo).

You may even spot some pirates wandering the beach and Main Street during the day.

The evening celebration is full of excitement for all ages and Bradley Beach is thrilled to be hosting the event at the beachfront for the first time. This event was formerly held at Riley Park downtown.

Tourism Director Nicole Kienlen said, “This year is going to be the best ever and we’re thrilled with the new beachfront location and slew of new entertainment!”

The evening Pirate Party can be found at 5 to 9 p.m. at the Bradley Beach Gazebo and  Boardwalk (5th Ave. x Ocean Ave.).  The event is free.

Fun includes a Tropical Bouncy House, climbing Skull Mountain & Vendors.  From 5 to 7 p.m. there will be free Airbrush Tattoos and Q & A at the Live Aquatic and Reptile Booth. You can also  take pictures with A Real Live Mermaid, and watch the Pirate Show by Valhalla’s Pirates.

From 7 to 9 p.m. it will be Random Test Reggae Band performing.  Be sure to get your pirate gear ready for the Adult Pirate Costume Contest.  At 7:45 pm gather by the stage for the 8 p.m.judging by Captain William Black and the singer of Random Test Reggae Band.  The best Pirate Costume contest prize includes dinner at Vic’s Italian Restaurant plus 2 tickers with free popcorn to Beach Cinema for the perfect evening out on your bounty!
