Donations Sought for Liberty Park Garden Expansion

The Midtown Urban Renaissance Corporation and First Pentecostal Church, the co-sponsors of Liberty Park Community Garden in Neptune are seeking donations for the garden expansion on Monroe Avenue.   .

The garden was created more than seven years ago through the support of Neptune Township’s administration, Rutgers Master Gardeners and interested volunteers. Its purpose is to bring fresh vegetables to the Midtown residents and a more positive environment into the neighborhood. As a result of this endeavor, the gang activity that once negatively impacted the park has been greatly reduced.

The group hopes to raise $5,000 and has already raised $2,200. All checks should be made payable to MURC – Community Garden and mailed to Midtown Urban Renaissance Corporation, 57 S. Main Street No. 270, Neptune, NJ 07753.
