Ocean Township Deputy Mayor Robert Acerra will be stepping down from his post soon but he will not be leaving the Township Council
“It’s just time to step down but I will still do what I need to do as a council member. I am not going anywhere,” he said earlier this week.
Acerra has been on the council for more than three years and replaced former Deputy Mayor William Garofalo when he stepped down more than two years ago.
Mayor Christopher Siciliano said a replacement for Acerra may be made at the Oct. 25 council meeting.
“He is a great public servant and I understand the time constraints. He wants to give 100 percent but can’t. He did a good job,” he said.
