Rabbi Benjamin Blech, an internationally recognized educator, religious leader, author and lecturer will be Scholar-in-Residence at Congregation Agudath Achim in Bradley Beach this weekend
The summer may be over, but Agudath Achim’s off-season speaker series is rearing to go, kicking off with Rabbi Benjamin Blech who will be Scholar-in-Residence this coming Shabbat, Oct. 12 and 13.
“The idea behind the off-season programming is to feed the spiritual needs of their many year-round residents while introducing potential new members to the beauty of Bradley Beach,” said Synagogue President Len Strulowitz.
“We call our shul the best kept secret on the Jersey Shore,” jokes Strulowitz. “But it’s time we let more people in on the secret.”
Blech will be delivering a Shabbat morning talk entitled: The Mitzvah of Faith –in Whom?
Blech has been a highly sought after teacher at Yeshiva University for several decades. He is also a best-selling author of over 15 books on Judaism including the New York Times bestseller The Sistine Secrets: Michelangelo’s Forbidden Messages in the Heart of the Vatican. His latest book Hope, Not Fear: Changing the Way We View Death was just released this Sept. 15.
“We are excited to host Rabbi Blech who in addition to being a great speaker is a great mensch. He is known for being passionate and warm, which I think is the best way to describe our shul and what it stands for,” Stulowitz said.
All are welcome to attend the lecture which will start at approximately at 10:30 a.m.
