Neptune police officers responded to about 14 calls of vandalism in Ocean Grove on Wednesday morning. A number of cars had profane words, images and even some swastikas written in soap on them.
“We assume is was kids doing this on Mischief Night. They used soap on parked vehicles but there was no damage to the vehicles,” Police Communications Capt. Michael McGhee said.
He said that the officers cleared the soap images off of the cards themselves after they were first photographed.
“We are investigating this as a biased incident or crime,” he said
