Trying to find the perfect gift this holiday season for a treasured friend, family member, or teacher? Look no further than the upcoming Friends of the Bradley Beach Library Jewelry Sale Fundraiser set for Fri., Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. at the borough library.

This annual sale features a wide selection of jewelry with prices ranging from $1 to $15, said  Lenore Decovsky, jewelry sale coordinator and President of the Friends group.

“This is our fourth jewelry sale run by the Friends,” she said. “All of the proceeds from the sale benefit the library, providing funds for various library projects and programs. All of the jewelry has been donated to the library for this event.”

The sale also features vintage hankies, rings, pins, cuff links, earrings, tie racks, religious items, holiday themed items, clip on earrings, lockets and children’s jewelry.

Decovsky said last year’s sale was very successful and more than 150  shoppers attended, looking for gifts at reasonable prices.

“There is something for everyone! It is a good opportunity to pick up holiday gifts for moms, wives, sisters, and friends. It’s great for stocking stuffers, gifts for kids to give to friends or teachers…or to collect themselves. The reasonable prices make this attractive for the kids’ gift giving. It gives them a chance to purchase gifts on their own,” she said.

Volunteers from the Friends group help set up and run the sale. Others donate jewelry to sell including the Second Chances Thrift Boutique.

“The objective of Friends is to organize fundraising opportunities within the community for support of the library,” Decovsky said. “The jewelry sale is a fun event that raises a nice amount of money for the library.  As a 501 (c) (3) fundraising arm of the library, our goal is to organize fundraising activities working in conjunction with library staff and the Library Board of Trustees. We are volunteers and advocates for the library, helping to maintain the library’s role as an educational, cultural and community center.”

The Friends group is still accepting all types of jewelry donations until Nov. 28. Donations can be brought to the Bradley Beach Library at 511 Fourth Avenue. For more information call the library at 732-776-2995 or email Ldecov@aol.com
