The Asbury Park Rotary recently distributed free dictionaries to all third-graders in the club’s district, including Asbury Park Neptune, Ocean Township and Deal.
For 15 years the club has been giving dictionaries to approximately 800 students in 16 schools.
Some Rotary members hand-delivered the books to the students and spent time looking up words like Rotary, volunteer, and community.
The Rotary Club of Asbury Park is celebrating its 100th year as a club in 2019.
It is one of the oldest Rotary clubs in the country with approximately 70 members.
