A member of the Anti-Defamation League is scheduled to speak at a special forum in Ocean Grove Sun., Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. in the Community Room on Pilgrim Pathway.
The forum is sponsored by Ocean Grove United and the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association in response to events over the last few months.
On Oct. 30, Mischief Night, several anti-Semitic and racial slurs were written on cars in Ocean Grove. Neptune Police have been informed and the incident is being investigated. In response to the concerns of Ocean Grove residents, Melanie Robbins from the Anti-Defamation League was invited to speak on this issue.
Founded in 1913, the mission of the Anti-Defamation League is to stop the defamation of the Jewish people, and to secure justice and fair treatment to all. Today their work involves fighting threats to democracy, including cyber hate, bullying, bias in schools nd in the criminal justice system, terrorism, hate crimes, coercion of religious minorities and contempt for anyone who is different. All are welcome.
