British Invasion Coming to Asbury Park

A British musical invasion is coming to Asbury Park soon with a Beatles, Bangladesh and Beyond concert scheduled for Feb. 23 and a tribute to The Who being held on March 1.

The “Beatles, Bangladesh and Beyond” concert is a celebration of the transcendent musical life of Beatle George Harrison. It will be held at McLoone’s Supper Club, 1200 Ocean Avenue, on Saturday, Feb. 23. Doors open at 8 p.m.

And on Friday there will be a tribute concert to The Who, also at McLoone’s Supper Club. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Guitarist, singer-songwriter and producer Marc Ribler, who is currently Musical Director for Stevie Van Zandt’s “Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul”, will head the two concerts along with fellow musicians, aka his “Friends.”

“An all-star lineup will make these nights you will never forget! Mark Ribler and Friends will recreate the music of George Harrison and The Who with spot-on accuracy and attention to detail,” said RUE Events owner Ruthanne Harrison.

Her business is promoting both concerts.

Ribler has performed with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Darlene Love, Ian Anderson, Roger McGuinn, Carole King, Rick Springfield, Peter Wolf, Southside Johnny, Steve Forbert, Gary US Bonds, Lulu, Rick Nielsen, Cheap Trick and many others.

He has written and produced over 40 songs for major label recording artists throughout the world. His songs have charted in Billboard’s Hot 100 and The American Top 40 Kasey Casem Count Down. He has also had Top 10 hits internationally. Ribler also writes, sings and produces for film, national television and radio.

The line-up for Ribler’s bands also include Andy Burton (keyboards/vocals); Jack Daley (bass); Rich Mercurio (drums); Mike Flynn (guitar); Freedom Bremner (vocals/percussion); and Dale Toth (lead vocals).
