The Asbury Park African-American Music Project is holding a launch party on Fri., June 21 at the Danny Clinch Transparent Gallery, 201 Fifth Ave. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Suggested donation is $10.
There will be live music, historic photos ad stories of Springwood Avenue.
The AMP is a volunteer organization that celebrates the musical heritage stories of Springwood Avenue.
The organization is inviting anyone with a story, to share their memories, photos and memorabilia with the group.
Anyone with stories about the cultural heritage of Springwood Avenue through oral histories, research, writing and program is welcome to share.
The group’s mission also includes addressing the lack of representation in traditional historic resource and giving voice to the stories of Asbury Park’s African-American community.
