A checkpoint by the Monmouth County Driving While Intoxicated Task Force is scheduled for 9 p.m. Sat., July 6 through 1 a.m. July 7 along Main Street in Allenhurst.
During the stop, officers may discover other offenses for which motor vehicle summonses or criminal charges may be issued. Those with outstanding warrants may also be taken into custody.
Task force members and officers from the Allenhurst Police Department will pull vehicles from the northbound lanes of Main Street onto Elberon Avenue to determine a driver’s sobriety, Schneider said.
The DWI task force is run by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association.
