The Ocean Grove Beautification Project will host its annual fundraiser at the Starving Artist Sat., Sept.14 and Sun., Sept. 15.
The event is an important source of income towards their annual planting expenses especially with planting new perennials in our gardens. Expenses were greater this year due to the extreme heat and the frequency and the amount of rain causing some damage to flowers and sprinkler systems.
Beautification, as it is known, depends on contributions from individuals, local government and non-profit organizations. This year the group planted and maintained 18 gardens and 5 historical urns as well as the 91 boardwalk beach planters even in these extreme weather conditions.
The fundraiser for OGBP will be at the Starving Artist which is located at 47 Olin in Ocean Grove. The Starving Artist donates a percentage of every meal check to Beautification. The restaurant’s hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Information about the organization, volunteer forms and pictures of all our planting areas will be on display at the restaurant. Also donations can be left in the group’s container at this table.
If you cannot make this event you can send contributions to the Ocean Grove Beautification Project, Checks must be made out to Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association and in the memo area it must state that is is for the Ocean Grove Beautification Project. and sent to the OG Camp Meeting Asso. at 54 Pitman Ave. P.O.
