A Wesley Lake Cleanup is scheduled for Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. Those participating are asked to meet at the footbridge across from the Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten on Lake Avenue, Asbury Park. The cleanup will focus on the city’s Cookman Avenue business district and raise awareness about discarded cigarette butts and the danger they pose to waterways and wildlife.
