The stars will be out in Asbury Park Sun., Oct. 27 when the members of the New Jersey Hall of Fame Class of  2018 will be inducted at the Paramount Theatre on the city’s boardwalk.

Prior to the ceremony stars will be walking the red carpet in the Grand Arcade beginning at 5 p.m.

“Our 11th annual induction ceremony will be a celebration of another stellar class of Jersey legends, and the culmination of our $10 million capital campaign,” said Steve Edwards, president of the NJHOF.

The Hall of Fame museum is scheduled to open in December 2020 at the American Dream complex in East Rutherford.

This year’s inductees include author Peter Benchley of Pennington, “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin of Bayonne, actor Jason Alexander of Livingston, musician Southside Johnny Lyon of Neptune and musicians The Smithereens of Carteret and Scotch Plains.

Also, activist Elizabeth Allen, Hoboken; physician, professor Victor Parsonnet, Newark, former New York Giants football player Harry Carson, Franklin Lakes; basketball player, coach Anne Donovan, Ridgewood; gymnast Laurie Hernandez, Old Bridge and former New York Giant Bart Oates, Harding.

At the ceremony where the inductees were announced Hall of Fame chairman Jon F. Hanson said that the NJHOF has reached $10 million in the fund-raising campaign for its permanent museum at the American Dream entertainment and retail complex.

“I’m just so happy to see that here, in New Jersey, we’re recognizing people who either worked in New Jersey or were born in New Jersey,” said Jon F. Hanson, chairman of the NJHOF.
