The Borough Council unanimously approved the deal at its meeting earlier this week.

Under the terms of the agreement, the borough will transport brush collected from residents to the township yard. The borough will pay the township $10 per cubic yard of brush.

The estimated annual amount of brush collected in Neptune City is 2,500 cubic yards.

The resolution passed by the council calls for the cooperative venture to run from Jan. 1, 2020 through Dec. 32, 2021.

Also at the meeting, the council approved a resolution adding $23,750 to a bond issue for repairs to Windsor Avenue.

In response to a question from a resident, Mayor Robert J. Brown said the appropriation did not mean that the street would be torn up again for further work.

The council accepted the resignation of Tracey Sorrentino as full-time court administrator, effective Nov. 1.

A Halloween curfew will be in effect from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. for persons under the age of 17. The curfew prohibits the wearing of masks by any person during that time.

Borough Administrator Bryan A. Russell was authorized by the council to receive sealed proposals from applicants for various professional appointments, including borough attorney, labor attorney, municipal prosecutor, public defender, auditor, engineer and planner. Submissions are due by Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. Forms can be downloaded at the borough website.
