The replacement of the West Bangs Bridge, located on West Bangs Avenue between Old Corlies Avenue and Route 33, is scheduled to begin this week and is anticipated to take up to 90 days to complete.
“The delay of the work on the West Bangs Bridge has been due to waiting for utility relocation and permitting, which is out of the County’s control,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “The County has been informed that work can begin Monday, so we plan to start immediately. I will work very closely with the engineers to make sure that this work is done as quickly as possible.”
In total, the County maintains approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons.
