Governor Murphy is now requiring you wear a face covering when visiting essential retailers to slow the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a face covering could help keep you from infecting others—early research shows that individuals who are infected, but haven’t yet displayed symptoms, can still spread the virus. For more information on face coverings, visit www.cdc.gov/
To help stop the spread of germs: wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue then throw the tissue in the trash; and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
If you have symptoms, call your doctor and stay at home except to get medical care. If you have an emergency that requires calling 9-1-1, we ask that you let the call-taker know if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms—our first responders’ safety is even more valuable in this crisis.
If you haven’t already, please take a moment now to sign up to receive emergency updates from the City by texting 07712 to 888-777 or go to www.nixle.com to sign up and manage your account.
