Originally scheduled to reopen on Friday, April 24 after being closed to the public for about two weeks, township officials had decided to relax rules that were put in place for residents to use the park. Rules regulated who could use the park and at what times.
“We realized that the rules were too cumbersome and were going to upset a lot of people. We could see the problems they were going to cause,” Mayor Christopher Siciliano said.
The park was closed after Gov. Murphy issued an Executive Order closing parks.
