The Bradley Beach Historical Society and Museum is hosting its first online Story Hour on Sun., May 17 at 3 p.m.
The live program via Zoom features local author and summer resident Bette Blum, who will read the story of Virgil’s from her book entitled “Bradley Beach Treasures: Reflections of the Jersey Shore.”
In the late 1950s, Virgil and Rose Galassetti opened The Maryann Shoppe on the corner of Newark and Central Avenues which quickly became a gathering place fondly known as Virgil’s.
Maryann Galassetti, who lived in Bradley Beach for 46 years and served as principal of Bradley Beach Elementary School, will join Blum to share personal stories and answer questions from viewers.
