On May 30 at approximately 7:08 p.m. the Asbury Park Police and the Asbury Park Fire Department’s were dispatched to the beach area near Second and Ocean Avenues, for two distressed swimmers in the ocean.
First to arrive on scene were Officer’s Christopher Sylvia and Tess Martin, who entered the water without hesitation. The two officers, along with two good samaritans, emerged from the water successfully saving the two victims.
This was an outstanding effort by all involved, said city officials.
