Guidance on the status of allowing indoor dining in Asbury Park remains fluid on Friday, June 12.
Previously, the Asbury Park City Council voted Wednesday evening to allow indoor dining at the city’s eateries.
On Friday afternoon, Governor Philip Murphy, in his daily update, said the state, after trying to resolve the issue of indoor dining with the governing body amicably, will be bringing a lawsuit against the city.
On Friday evening, Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn via social media shared the letter below on behalf of the council with the following introduction:
“Going to be asking our restaurants NOT to open for indoor dining Monday. Fingers crossed this stand motivates Governor Phil Murphy to meet with our small biz community and propose guidelines for indoor dining.”
