It was a successful planting season for the Ocean Grove Beautification project group despite the painful circumstances of Covid-19.
The all-volunteer group was able to plant the 90 boardwalk urns, five historic urns and 17 public gardens with its dedicated volunteers. Some new, hard-working volunteers, also joined the group.
In a release the group said the most rewarding part was when residents and visitors admired the work saying, “It gave them such peace and hope to be surrounded by our gardens and urns during these difficult times.”
That’s the ultimate compliment, the release said.
“Our mission has been accomplished through the beauty of nature and our love of Ocean Grove.”
Donations are greatly needed this year, by the group, because the Ladies Auxiliary, its biggest donor, had to cancel all its fundraising events this year because of the pandemic.
