A virtual reunion of students of the Bradley Beach Grammar School is being planned.
The Bradley Beach Historical Society and Museum is hosting a virtual reunion on Sunday, March 21 at 3 p.m. for students who graduated from Bradley Beach Grammar School between 1955 and 1959.
Beginning with alumni who still live in the area or summer in Bradley Beach, an enthusiastic organizing committee including Steve Barcan, Barry Slott, and Deborah Greenstein unleashed a flurry of calls and emails to find classmates from over 60 years ago. They are networking with old friends now living all over the country to collect stories and memorabilia for the historical society archives as well as to identify as many students as possible in a rich variety of class pictures.
BBHS is also encouraging former grammar school students to dig out old year books and search for photographs taken on class trips or during community activities.
“These photos inevitably trigger an avalanche of memories, and then sharing begins,” said Paul Neshamkin, society president. “We expect this first virtual reunion to be the catalyst for many future school gatherings.”
There is no fee to attend but pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to fill out the Reunion Survey which is due by March 14.
To register and complete the survey, visit the BBHS website: https://bbhistory.org/. A link to the virtual reunion will be sent to all registrants prior to the March 21 event.
