The Asbury Park Public Arts Commission is seeking local artists who would be interested in painting murals on six by six panels to be displayed throughout the city.
The murals would be temporary and would be displayed in the downtown area, on and around Cookman Avenue, and in Springwood Park. There are seven double sided panels and up to 14 artists will be chosen.
The commission will select the artists at the April 19 meeting. The panels will be painted in the field.
Local artists of all levels are encouraged to apply. There is no stipend, but the city can supply materials for up to $250 per panel.
To be considered, submit a design to Michele Alonso, director of Planning and Redevelopment, at email@example.com no later than 4/12/21. The design should be scaled to the size of the panel.
