Police and firefighters responded to a structure fire March 18 at 12:30 p.m. at 2795 Asbury Ave., Ocean Township.
When they arrived they saw smoke and flames coming from the residence. The house appeared to be unoccupied and no subjects were located on scene. Asbury Avenue between Bowne Road and Cold Indian Springs Road was closed while the fire was extinguished.
Firefighters from the Wanamassa Fire Department, the Oakhurst Fire Department, the Asbury Park Fire Department, Deal Fire Department, and the Tinton Falls Fire Department responded.
No residents were located and it appears as if the house is vacant. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office.
