Local officials and Zen Leaf executives celebrated the opening of the first cannabis dispensary in the Asbury Park area Fri., April 16.
Zen Leaf Neptune, located at 2100 NJ-66 in Neptune Township, is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Before the ribbon cutting, local chamber members and municipal officials toured the dispensary with Zen Leaf executives.
In addition to providing safe, legal access to cannabis in the Asbury Park area, the dispensary will provide local tax revenue for the city and provide more than 30 jobs in the community.
Zen Leaf Neptune will initially provide regulated cannabis products to enrolled patients in the state’s medical cannabis program. In February, Governor Phil Murphy signed adult-use cannabis reform bills into law, which legalizes and regulates cannabis use and possession for adults 21 and over. Zen Leaf Neptune is expected to provide adult-use sales when permitted by state regulators.
