The Waterfront Redevelopment Area in Asbury Park may see the construction of 206 townhomes, retail space and parking spaces at 1101 Kingsley St., with development frontage of the minor site development on Third and Fourth Avenues as well under a plan being proposed.
The application for the project will be presented at the Planning Board’s May 3 virtual meeting by developer Venture Urban Renewal, LLC.
Residents will be able to attend via Zoom or by phone.
The applicant is seeking to consolidate 14 tax lots to create three tax lots at the site.
The largest lot, fronting on Kingsley Street, is planned to be the site of 206 townhomes along with 4600-square-feet of ground floor retail space.
The townhomes would be four stories in height and have an internal courtyard amenity. Venture Urban Renewal is also proposing 285 parking spaces onsite with an additional 60 spaces provided in the existing parking garage at the Asbury Ocean Club located across the street.
The applicant is also seeking relief from structural design features to allow aluminum or metal doors where wood or composite wood is required.
They are also seeking relief for the size and type of windows they would like to install along with colors of the facade, which currently must come from a designated color wheel.
The application, maps, plans and related supporting materials will be available for public inspection on the Planning Board website (www.cityofasburypark.com/planningboard or www.cityofasburypark.com/240/Planning-Board) at least ten (10) days before the public hearing.
