Loch Arbour officials hope to have their beaches open this weekend. But only if they can hire enough lifeguards.
The Board of Commissioners is holding an emergency meeting on June 3 at 5 p.m. to discuss the issue of an insufficient number of lifeguards to open the beach this weekend. The commissioners are scheduled to take action at the meeting.
The public can access the meeting on Zoom. The municipal building is closed to the public.
Finding enough staff for business owners is a problem all over the shore area. Some restaurants report they have reduced their hours because they can’t find help.
