St. John’s Episcopal Church, a summer Episcopal church in Avon, is holding its first service of the season Sun., June 27 at 9 a.m. as it celebrates 138 years.

The schedule of visiting priests includes June 27 and July 4 – Rev. Gregory Bezilla July 11 – Rev. Susan Ironside July 18 – Rev. Beth Rauen July 25 – Rev. Juan Monge-Santiago Aug 1 and Aug 8 – Rev. PaulAdler Aug. 15 and 22 – Rev. Paul Van Sant Aug. 29 and Sept. 5 – Rev. Bob Fitzpatrick.

This summer we will welcome seven different priests and their families to serve at St. John’s Episcopal Church. This enables parishioners to hear a “new voice” throughout the summer. -The Holy Eucharist service will be held in person on Sundays at 9 a.m.

Richard Ludlum is our organist -St. John’s Sessions will resume this summer: evening concerts organized by Chris Krebs -Our seventh summer of concerts

This summer chapel is one of the few that has a rectory for the priests and their families to live in while visiting St. John’s. This provides a respite for priests who do so much for their congregations at home. The St. John’s Sessions provides an opportunity for people to enjoy music inside St. John’s and experience serene stained glass windows and local musicians who care about supporting beautiful, old buildings.
