Mary’s Place by the Sea in Ocean Grove, a respite home for women undergoing treatment for cancer, is open once again for in-person day retreats while continuing to offer virtual services.
The home held its First Annual Swing for the Soul Golf Outing on June 21 at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune. It was the first in-person fundraiser that Mary’s Place by the Sea has held since the start of the pandemic.
“We at Mary’s Place by the Sea have been blessed by the generosity of our community. Thanks to the steadfast support of our donors, we can offer rest and respite to women at a time when they need it most. The golf outing was a wonderful day as we gathered with so many of our supporters for a round of golf and fundraising for the women we serve,” said Michele Gannon, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Mary’s Place by the Sea.
More than 100 golfers attended the morning outing, followed by lunch inside the country club with networking, an auction, golf prizes, and raffles.
The mission of Mary’s Place is to support women with cancer through integrative services which complement their medical treatment and empower, educate and support their healing: mind, body, and soul. The non-profit organization has served over 11,000 women since its founding in 2009.
