The Vin Gopal Civic Association is organizing a Community Fair and Family Day at Joe Palaia Park in Ocean Township, 240 Whalepond Rd. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 16.
This free event will feature live music by Pure McCartney, food and beverage trucks, craft vendors, inflatables, rides, and more.
“Our local VFWs and American Legions have suffered in their fundraising efforts due to the effects of the Covid-19 shutdown,” said Sen. Gopal, chair of the association “We wanted to do something to give back and show our appreciation for the servicemen and servicewomen who have given us so much.”
The Vin Gopal Civic Association is working with sponsors including World Auto Group, Taco Bell in Manasquan, Anheuser Busch, La Dolce Bakery in Freehold, Legacy Pharmacy Group, and more to make most of the attractions free. However, voluntary donations are welcome and encouraged.
All proceeds will be donated to local veterans’ groups, and QR codes with a PayPal link will be spread throughout the event to encourage voluntary donations of any size.
Monmouth County veterans’ groups who have been impacted by the shutdowns caused by the Covid-19 pandemic were strongly encouraged to apply to be beneficiaries on the website at VinGopalCivic.org
