With summer just around the corner Neptune is once again hosting the “Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs” event Sun., June 5.
The event, sponsored by the Neptune police, administration, marina, Recreation Department, and Municipal Alliance Against Substance Misuse, runs from 9 a.m. to noon rain or shine at Hamilton Fire Company Pond, 10 Jumping Brook Rd. The pond will be stocked with fish, and there are youth prizes to celebrate catches.
The event is for all ages, with a focus on promoting and introducing youth to fishing as an outdoor recreational option and grow an appreciation for the environment. The event is rain or shine, so bring your fishing or use one of the township’s.
Adults are welcome to participate as well.
