A fundraiser for the former Turf Club in Asbury Park is scheduled for Sun., June 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Blackbird Commons, 131 Atkins Ave., Asbury Park.
The event, hosted by the Asbury Park African-American Music Project, is billing the event as Throwback Sunday and will feature live jazz by the Jimmy Givens Trio, southern food and cocktails.
Blackbird Commons is just down the street from the former Turf Club on Springwood Avenue.
Those attending are asked to be prepared to show a vaccine card or negative test results upon entry.
Tickets are $50 and are available through Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.com/e/335995360167) or with cash/check at the Asbury Park Public Library. Sponsorships for the event are also available.
