The all-request edition of Springsteen on Sunday radio program, hosted by Tom Cunningham on 107.1 The Boss (WWZY-FM), will return for its 17th year, with all proceeds benefiting Fulfill, formerly the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
The show features the music of Bruce Springsteen and other Jersey Shore legends.
On Sun., Nov. 20 Springsteen on Sunday will broadcast live from Bar Anticipation and feature a performance by Jersey Shore favorite, Joe D’Urso. Bar “A” doors will open at 8 a.m.
A total of 20 song requests, starting at a $25, benefitting Fulfill, will be accepted on site or by calling (732) 643-5831, beginning at 9 a.m. Donations over the phone will be accepted via credit card and in-person donations may be made using cash, check, credit card or Venmo. Listeners are invited request the Springsteen song of their choice, provided it has not been previously selected, and they may include a personal dedication.
Following the November 20 event, a special three-hour edition of the show will play back the requests on 107.1 The Boss, beginning at 8 a.m. Sun., Nov. 27.
“The words ‘nobody wins unless everybody wins’ have never rung truer,” Cunningham said. “It’s always fun to see what songs listeners come up with, and it’s always a lot of fun to play them back. Bruce Springsteen’s commitment to hunger concerns in his backyard and globally is legendary. In our 17th year, our program in support of Fulfill and its partners offers a sense of pride for all involved.”
