The 34th Annual World’s AIDS Day will be observed Thurs., Dec. 1.
The Center in Asbury Park along with Trinity Church, Asbury Park, will commemorate the day with a service at Trinity Church.
During the service the group will remember many of friends and family lost to AIDS over the years.
Music will be provided by The New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus, Andrew DePrisco and Christine Kephart.
The theme of this World’s AIDS Day is equalize. It is a call to action to recognize the inequalities facing people living with AIDS in various parts of the world as well as here in our own company. There will be an address by Rev. Canon Professor Gideon Byamuglisha from Uganda calling attention to the inequity in treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The commemoration will begin with a candlelight walk from The Center in Asbury Park, 806 Third Ave.to Trinity Church beginning at 6:30 p.m. The service at Trinity Church will begin at 7 p.m.
