It’s time for Asbury Park to dress up and party. Asbury Park Mardi Gras is back for two days of fun, Fri., Feb. 17 and Sat., Feb. 18.
On Feb. 17 dress to impress at the 7th Asbury Park Masquerade Ball at the Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten, 527 Lake Ave, from 9 p .m. to midnight. Enjoy entertainment by the VooDUDES, and a costume contest to be crowned Ruler of Mardi Gras and win great prizes.
On Sat., Feb. 18 join in the King Cake Baby Hunt, a festive scavenger hunt for all ages, from noon to 5 p.m. and it is free to participate. Start at Backward Glances, inside the Shoppes at the Arcade, 658 Cookman Ave., and get the location of all the king cake babies. Visit the downtown shops and find each baby. Complete the hunt to enter to win prizes. Get free Mardi Gras donuts (while supplies last) and dress up at the Mardi gras selfie station.
At 2 pm, come watch the 3rd annual Mardi Paws Parade march down Cookman Avenue. It’s free to watch the fun; register your pet in advance to compete in the costume contest for prizes at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mardi-gras-pet-parade-tickets-530372748167, or on-site at the Shoppes at the Arcade Saturday at 1 p.m. All registration proceeds will be donated to Wag On Inn Rescue.
